What's New in Drug Rehab? For the last 70 years traditional drug rehab approaches have been used primarily by those seeking to handle a substance abuse issue. Although it has been somewhat effective for some individuals many addicts completing these types of programs and later relapsing ended up finding help with more alternative approaches that achieved higher success rates for permanent sobriety. In the last decade more and more approches to alternative drug treatment have been introduced that have provided a safer treatment approach - by not using replacement drugs on patients - and have delivered a very high success rate for permanent sobriety. One such method is the "bio-physical" drug treatment approach that is used in a program called the Narconon drug and alcohol rehabilitation program Unlike most alternative drug treatment methods that are new, the Narconon program has been achieving results with addicts for more than 44 years and achieves a more than 70% success rate for permanet sobriety. Just since 1995, the Narconon program has graduated more than 25,000 people. The reason why this type of alternative drug treatment is so effective is because they use a detoxification program through the use of a dry heat sauna that actually removes drug toxins from the body. The program also implements life skills therapy that focuses and restoring a person to their "former self" before the use of drugs or alcohol and seeks to increase the individal's abilities in life. The result is that after a person completes the Narconon program they are a drug free, productive and ethical member of society. The Narconon program is an amazing addition to alternative drug treatment that produces stable, positive results with addicts. |
